Hi guys! So today's post is ALL about hair! Back in 2011 I went through a rough breakup (rough as far as high school breakups go haha) and like most girls, I decided it was time for something new and chopped my long locks off! (DO most girls do that??? Or was it just me???) Anyway, I hated it. My hair went from going down to my lower back to shoulder length and I cried everyday because of how short and choppy it was/looked. I think I watched a handful of youtube videos every single day about how to grow long hair FAST. Anyway, every single video told me the same thing that everyone else will - it takes time. But it is important that DURING that time you're keeping your hair as healthy as possible to prevent split ends that break and make your hair seem like it's not growing. These are the things I did on and off for a few years that really showed improvement!
1. Coconut Oil. Applying coconut oil to your hair for at least 30 minutes at a time is great for your hair! If this scares you because you think your hair gets oily enough naturally, IT SHOULDN'T! Seriously, this is such a miracle worker! Your hair smells good, feels good, and looks extra shiny! If possible I would suggest doing this overnight!
2. Biotin. This is 100% my number one tip. Start off with a low mg dosage and take that for 30 days, up the mg for another 30 days, and then restart the lower dosage, ect. I only took like 5000 mg for a month, then took two a day for another month, and then went back to one for another month. My hair grew like freaking crazy.
3. Washes 2-4 times a week (every other day). This one is REALLY hard for me because I live in AZ so when it's hot and gross outside a nice cold shower is always heaven. Plus, knowing how sweaty and sticky I feel - I couldn't imagine NOT washing my hair. Anyway, start off washing your hair only every other day and then work your way to less and less washes - your hair may seem super oily at first but trust me, everything works itself out.
4. Less heat, more braids. This is an obvious one, use less heat on your hair. I would definitely suggest finding alternative hair styles if you're hair gets too crazy or if you rely on heat to tame it. Braids work like magic and are still super cute!
5. Avoid brushing while wet. Brushing wet hair only makes your hair weaker, more brittle, and more susceptible to split ends. Either don't do it, or use a wide toothed comb!
6. Macadamia Oil hair products! Macadamia oil hair products are my jam. Seriously, they smell so good and make my hair so soft and shiny. They have shampoos, conditioners, leave in conditioners, heat protectants, EVERYTHING. They are a little pricier but sometimes Target has super great sales that make them pretty cheap. (Protip: I've even seen them at Tj Maxx and Marshalls occasionally for AT LEAST 30% off of the regular prices. Also, you might be able to find some products online for a bit cheaper!)
These 6 tips are what I LIVE BY when I want my hair to grow super fast, or just when I notice that my hair is taking a huge hit after a ton of heat application. Hope this helped some of you guys out there!
Thanks for reading! XO, me.

1. Go on a walk!
Seriously, never underestimate the magic of even a TEN minute walk. Walk for 30 minutes, walk for an hour, spend an entire afternoon walking around your local park. However much time you need to decompress and just enjoy your surroundings!
2. "Declutter" (at least) two things a week!
It has been NO secret how stressed out I've been lately and I'm not sure WHAT it is but I'm like addicted to getting rid of stuff or rearranging or just recycling old paperwork or WHATEVER. I think I make it a goal to get rid of/donate/give to my sisters at least two things a week and I feel so much lighter and brighter and happier its the best feeling everrrrrrrr.
3. Wake up early.
Start your day early and get stuff done! Seriously, nothing is more inspiring and motivating than getting an entire list of to do's done early in the day and then finding out that its noon and you're freeeeeeeee.
4. Workout.
I've heard that working out makes you happier and less stressed ;) I have YET to complete this little tip and to stick with it haha. But do it!!!!
5. Make a fun playlist!
And then BLAST it while you do your daily chores/to do's. Seriously. (hint hint: beyonce is always a good idea).
6. Open your windows!
Nothing makes me happier and more motivated than opening my windows and letting as much sunlight into the room and listening to the birds chirp and just life all around me. It gets WAY too hot to do this in Arizona any month after like March, so make the most of the coolER temperatures while you can haha.
7. Browse Pinterest.
Do I really even have to explain this one? Pinterest is my JAM.
8. Buy a new planner!
NOTHING feels better than having a brand spanking new planner and decorating it and/or filling it out. NOTHING. Don't fight me on this...
9. Read a book/magazine/blog post about stuff that interest you!
I've been trying to get into podcasts, but have yet to find one that REALLY interests me and holds my interest for 30+ minutes. But books, books, books. Even if its just light reading to browse through or a travel catalog or WHATEVER. Have those little reminders around you that get you excited to keep moving forward!
10. Brain dump.
If you're ever feeling overwhelmed open up a word doc and BRAIN DUMP. Let every thought that comes to you flow out onto the word doc for at least five minutes, then when you feel good and ready take whatever time you need to address and reflect on why you said/feel certain things and THEN brain dump again a bunch of different ideas or ways you can change or better those things and HANDLE IT! You can do it!

Spring time is in the air which means it's out with the old and grey stuff, and in with the new, bright stuff! Or merely just shining up all that old grey stuff and making them new! I put together a spring cleaning list of 15 things that get me excited to go on a cleaning rampage, and motivate me to keep better organized for the entire rest of the year! Hope this list is useful for you guys, happy spring cleaning! :)
1. Get rid of (at least) 5 unused/barely used items in your closet.
2. Scan/shred/digitize important documents.
3. Clear out your hard drive!
4. Transfer photos from phone onto computer/hard drive.
5. Get rid of expired beauty products.
6. Get rid of old and random music taking up space on your iPod or cellphone!
7. Recycle/trash old schoolwork.
8. Throw out your receipts.
9. Trash old/incomplete bedsheet sets.
10. Clear out underneath bathroom sinks.
11. Toss out mix-match dishes/tacky plastic cups.
12. Toss out old socks (buy new ones).
13. Toss out old nail polish and/or colors you will never use.
14. Donate old shoes/boots that laid around the entire year!
15. Clean out your pantry (seriously).
Thanks for reading everyone! Xoxoxox,me.
Okay you guys... This is it! My HALFWAY through my last semester of college update!
First off, I'm going to go ahead and admit that this semester sucks. And is kicking my BUTT.
I've recently quit my job because of how overwhelming this semester has been: physically, mentally, emotionally, ALL OF IT. It has drained me so, so, so much.
- Okay, so I really didn't want to quit my job. YEAH, I hate working, haha. But I also know that I need to work, and need money, haha. But I was something that I felt like I had to do in order to graduate on time and would be more beneficial for me in the long run. And I can say that I am still SO stressed out because of the move, and wedding planning, and all of it and how it requires money, haha.
I have at least one exam a week. Which is as terrible as it sounds.
I really LOVE school and love learning, but this semester has been the absolute worst semester I ever. I feel so un-motivated and uninspired.
BUT, I know that a lot of this is mind over matter. I let myself dwell on how stressed I am and I let myself live in that stress and it has definitely rubbed off on all other parts of my life. BUT, spring break is over and I've finally gotten the breath of fresh air I've been needing. And the future is full of SO many fun and exciting plans full of love and life and hope and I need to keep my eye on the prize! Haha.
If anyone of you are going through a hard time in school, KEEP GOING. It will all pay off in the end and those feelings won't last forever! That is definitely something I have to remind myself of day after day, haha.
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed my 1/2 semester update! Thanks for reading!
